SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HUMAN CAPITAL ACCUMULATION

Abstract: The paper analyses the relationship between two intangible forms of capital – human, that is contained in knowledge, skills, abilities and other attributes of individuals; and social, which is taking its place in contemporary social sciences by presenting various forms of social relations, as well as norms of social behavior. In the modern economic environment, these two types of capital, in addition to traditional, acquire an increasing importance as factors of economic growth and development. In addition to studying their mutual influences, the paper analyzes the potential impacts of social relations on the accumulation of human capital, as well as on the transfer of knowledge and information.
